Following a meeting with Chaplaincy Innovation Lab’s Michael Skaggs, we are going to review the “Unaffiliated Chaplaincy” section of their website. Our conversation seemed productive in communicating that “Unaffiliated” is a poor descriptor for Humanist Chaplains and, looking at all of the other religious groups they single out (Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan, Unaffiliated), there’s probably a good argument to make for “Humanism” having its own call-out.
Either way, we want to provide language suggestions to Michael that will help them better represent humanism.
