Chris Impey is a Distinguished Professor of Astronomy at the University of Arizona. He has 450 publications, and his research has been supported by $20 million in grants. He has won eleven teaching awards and has taught online classes with 380,000 enrolled. Chris was Vice President of the American Astronomical Society, and has won its career Education Prize. He’s also been NSF Distinguished Teaching Scholar and Carnegie Council’s Arizona Professor of the Year. He has written two textbooks, a novel, and nine popular science books. Chris is a member of the American Humanist Association and is a Humanist Celebrant.
